Emerson Selected for $14 Million Flow Measurement Project for One of World's Largest Sub-sea Pipelines

AUSTIN, TEXAS  (April 20, 2005) – Emerson Process Management, a business of Emerson (NYSE:EMR), has received a $14 million contract to provide fiscal flow metering systems for one of the largest sub-sea pipeline projects in the Asia-Pacific region.

The pipelines on the Mumbai Uran Trunk Line are being constructed for the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (ONGC) of India.  Oil and gas delivered through two new sub-sea pipelines to the Uran onshore processing plant will lay the foundation for the redeployment of the Bombay High Offshore region. The ambitious pipeline infrastructure development project will have a positive and lasting impact on India's domestic energy chain.

Emerson is engineering and delivering its Daniel® crude oil and gas metering systems on 12 high‑performance oil and gas metering skids that insure high integrity and accurate, reliable measurement of oil and gas volume, quality, composition and calorific value.  Accurate, reliable custody transfer measurement of oil and gas is critical for fiscal accounting and taxation purposes.

The offshore and onshore crude oil and gas metering skids are being installed as the basis for the production measurement and allocation between the production platforms.  This measurement philosophy adoption will be a vital link for the complete production measurement management chain, from production to final reporting of oil or gas sold.

“We are pleased to be combining our fiscal metering expertise and flow measurement technology into a solution that is vital to the performance of the pipeline and that will support the economic development of India," said John Berra, president of Emerson Process Management.
